Moneyers Guild Charter
Whereas the Crown has need of the skills in both art and science of the Moneyers of our realm, and having heard petitions on their behalf we are assured that the needs of the Crown and populace will be met by them in faithful concord. We therefore lay the foundation of and have created the Moneyers Guild of the Kingdom of the West on this the second day of January anno societatis XXXIII.
We further desire that their founding be established as to the following,
I. Let there be one Guild throughout the Kingdom of the West, holding to acceptable custom of their own devising, subject only to the laws and Crowns of the Kingdom.
II. Let the names and emblems of ourselves and those that follow us upon the Throne be commemorated for all ages upon the coin of the Realm.
III. Let there be made abundant coin for the needs of our several Princes, Barons, and Noble Lords and Ladies as their needs arise.
IV. Let all Moneyers in our realm so mark their dies that they be known to us and the populace.
V. Let us and those that follow us accept as a duty from the Guild a pound in coin during our reigns for the rights we agree to this day.
VI.Let there be one trusted Minister of the Guild acting as its head to attend to the needs of the Crown.
VII. Let there be continued instruction from all those of the Guild entitled to teach, to those that would learn the craft, so that those that follow us upon the Throne may be known to all the ages.
